Hi
I’ve had this idea in my head for awhile now, so for this card I decided to try it out…recycling that pair of blue jeans:
I started by running fusible webbing through my Cuttlebug with SU!’s clear flower die. Then I ironed the cut flower to the back side of a piece of denim (I cut some denim bibs into squares). Next I cut out the denim flower, by hand, about 1/4 inch larger than the ironed-on flower. Once the flower was cut, I used my Janome sewing machine to zig-zag around the petals. I wanted the edges to be frayed, so I ran it through the laundry with my load of jeans. Once it was dried, I ironed it flat, cut off the wild threads and there it was…amazing For the center, I punched out a Riding Hood Red circle and placed it under the large brad I made with my new i-top tool (which is awesome…check it out!). To add final touches, I distressed the edges of the card to kinda match the frayed flower petals (hard to see in this picture).
The sketch is TECC76
Have a great weekend. Thanks for looking!
