Good Morning! It’s Friday
Today I am showing you some fun no-snow shakers my girls and I made. We are giving some away for Mother’s Day and some to Lizzy’s teachers for end of the year gifts. They are so much fun! We made some with blue, pink and yellow flowers (for the pink lovers!), and some with purple, red and yellow flowers (for you purple and red lovers!). 😉
I found this idea in a Family Fun magazine, but I kinda took it to the next level. I found the silk flowers and butterflies (made of feathers) at Hobby Lobby. I cut the flowers to my desired height and hot glued them to the lids of 24 oz. jelly jars. The butterflies are hot glued to a floral wire, then to the bottom of the lid. Once the flowers and butterflies were arranged and glued in like I liked, I filled each jar with water and added some glitter. Next, I wrapped Teflon tape around the jar and screwed the lid on, carefully tucking the flowers and butterfly in the jar of water. Once the lid was tight, I hot glued around the lid to seal it. I cut about a 4-inch circle out of green fabric and hot-glued it to the lids. For the top of the jar, I used Word (on my computer) to wrap words in a circle, printed it on card stock and punched it out with my SU! scalloped circle punch, then attached it with a dimensional. If you shake the jars it looks really pretty with the sparkly glitter floating down. They look especially beautiful on the window sill with the sun shining through.
Thanks for looking I have a Mother’s Day card to share with you later today or tomorrow, so check back soon!
