Lizzy’s Birthday Card

Happy Thursday :-)

I hope you are having an enjoyable fall.  It won’t be long until we crank our clocks back!  I realized I forgot to post my 7 year old’s bday card.  She chose the DP that I was supposed to use.  Here it is…

The DP is from Creative Imaginations.  I matched it with Regal Rose and Ruby Red.  The butterflies were cut using my Cuttlebug and SU!’s Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die.  After cutting them out, I embossed them using CB Swiss Dots folder.  I used dots of Liquid Pearls to make the body and antennae.  The circles were cut using circle Nestabilities.

Tea Time

Hi :-)

I have been working with some super cute stamps I received from Stamps Happen, Inc.  Check out their site at www.janlynn.com.  I have three cards to show you today that I created with the stamp Pot & Cup, each with a different sketch.

This first card I made I am struggling with.  It’s really not my style with the black.  Black is really hard for me to work with.  I try to work “out of my box” with color from time to time, but it didn’t really work on this one.  Here’s what I mean…

I really like my tea bag idea for the image and sentiment, but hmmm.  This sketch is from Splitcoast SC225:

I love this stamp, so I had to continue playing with it.  I really like this card.  It is definitely me:

Tea Time TECC59 (Large)

This sketch was from Taylored Expressions TECC59:

Again, I really liked my tea bag idea, so the third time is the charm, right??

Sip & Relax WSC79 (Large)

So this card is the winner.  I love, love the colors.  Can you ever go wrong with pink and brown?  This sketch was the Weekend Sketch Challenge WSC79.

Happy Thursday :-)

Are you gearing up for Thanksgiving?  Time sure is flying by!  Can you believe Christmas is only 36 days away?  My kids and I have been listening to Christmas music while playing and making cards.  It sure puts us in the holiday spirit!

This card was made using Beate’s WSC66.  It was a fun sketch…you should give it a try :-)

WSC66 Winter Wishes (Large)

The mittens are out of the SU! set Merry Minis.  Aren’t they cute?  I used SU!’s Frosty Day DP also.  My sentiment was made using Word on my computer.  It was inspired by the dotted words on the DP.  Fun huh?.  I used glue and dazzling diamonds to make the snowflakes sparkle, and Stickles on the mittens and DP.

WSC64 & Kristina’s Color Inspiration #29

It’s a good day to stay inside today.  The wind is blowing so hard!  Maybe I’ll hang out in my stamping room (as if I needed an excuse!)  :-)

Today’s card was made using two challenges.  The sketch is Beate’s WSC64 and the color combo is from Kristina’s Color Inspiration #29.

Here’s my take on the colors and sketch:

All the colors are there.  The CS I used is Elegant Eggplant, Pacific Point and WW.  The flowers in the cake are Elegant Eggplant, Pacific Point and Taken with Teal.  The fire on the candles is Pumpkin Pie.

I embossed the first two layers on the card with my Stylized Flowers CB Embossing Folder.  The white scallops on the second layer were made using the SU! scallop punch.  I used Scalloped Oval Nestabilities for the main image layers.  Each main layer is on dimensionals, which you can’t see.  To finish the card, I attached a white flower from the Pretties Kit (SU!) with an Eggplant circle and white brad in the center.

I made my DH this card for our 9th anniversary in June.  I don’t generally use these colors together, but I think it worked.  Can you ever go wrong with House Mouse stamps??  They are so cute :-)

Tim 9th anniversary wsc50 (Large)

This card is pretty straight forward.  The DP is from SU!  I embossed the brown layer with my CB Distressed Stripes Embossing Folder and paper pierced around the edge of the bayou blue layer and the corners of the stamped image.  The mice are on dimensionals.  I stamped two extra images on vanilla card stock, colored the hearts and cut them out, then placed them on dimensionals in the upper corner.

Hi :-)

I hope everyone had a fun, safe 4th!  We had a lot of fun, now we need some time to catch up on rest, house cleaning, etc.  We have been traveling a lot and spending as much time on the mountain as possible these last few weeks so we’re exhausted :-)  I need to get back in my stamping room this week!  I miss it!  This is the last card I made (2 weeks ago!!) for my sister’s birthday.  She LOVES purple:

This is Billboardabella.  Isn’t she cute!?  I used almost amethyst, elegant eggplant and Making Memories DP.  I used my CB Swiss Dots Embossing Folder for the white layer.  Both the Bella layer and the eggplant layer are on dimensionals.  I colored bella with my SU! markers.

Wonderful Daisy

Hi again :-)

I just finished this card for a friend and I had to share!  I think it’s so cheerful and pretty.  I hope she likes it!

Linda Wonderful Daisy (Large)

I started with this DP (Sticko Style Letter Press) I bought
a long time ago.  I haven’t been inspired
to use it until now!  The patterned paper
is embossed, which is one reason I loved it.  This sketch is Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge #51.

I used my Cuttlebug a ton on this card!  I embossed my saffron/coral layer, cut out the
slider with a die, then cut out the daisy with a BossKut die.  I think the flowers and embossing all
compliment eachother.  I stamped my
sentiment (from SU! Warm Words) on the slider, threaded some organdy ribbon
through and attached it.  This card seems
springy, doesn’t it?
