Happy Birthday Kole!

Happy Wednesday :-)

It has been a busy week already.  I haven’t had time in my stamping room yet, but I made a card a couple weeks ago for my nephew, Kole, who turns one tomorrow.  Happy Birthday Kole!!  I wish we could be there to celebrate his first birthday :-(

I had to use my God is Love stamp set.  I think it is so cute.  Instead of using patterned paper, I dry embossed (with my Cuttlebug) one layer then stamped hearts from my Sprinkles stamp set on the other.  I think it turned out cute :-)  This sketch is Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge #42.

I better go run my errands…have a great weekend!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Hi :-)

My kids and husband are wonderful!  They gave me homemade cards, homemade gifts and a gift certificate!  The homemade ones are the best :-)  They make me feel so special and loved.

This is the card I made for Mother’s Day:

mothers day 08 wsc46 (Large)

No stamps!?!  I haven’t made a card without stamps for quite awhile.  I used Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge WSC46 for the layout.  I did not want to cover up very much of the patterned paper I used because I think it’s so pretty!  The center panel is actually cut and popped up with dimensionals.  I used my Cuttlebug Butterflies die and embossing folder for the butterfly.  Once it was cut and embossed (I started with WW cardstock), I inked my rubber brayer in Night of Navy and rolled it over the butterfly.  It worked perfectly!  I bent back the wings and adhered the butterfly to the card with a glue dot.  Here is a close up:

I printed the sentiment on WW cardstock using my computer.  I paper pierced the corners of the sentiment using my paper piercing tool and mat pack.  To finish it off, I set two flower eyelets in the left panel.

Enjoy your Mother’s Day!

Happy Birthday Kloie!

Hi :-)

I have a card to share today :-) Usually this is my house cleaning day, but it’s too nice outside to be stuck inside cleaning!  I know the cleaning will wait for me.  Darn.

My niece, Kloie, will turn 4 in May.  I have gotten a jump on my May cards so hers is already done!  Generally I run against the wire so I’m enjoying this :-)

Kloie B-day wsc45 (Large)

I used my Cupcake stamp by Hero Arts.  I just love all the cupcakes in this set.  I stamped then colored the cupcake then added glitter with my glue pen on parts of the icing.  I used my new Nestabilities to cut out the scalloped rectangle.  They just came in the mail Saturday and I could hardly wait to use them!!  I ran the vanilla layer under the cupcake through my Marvy Paper Crimper.  I though it resembled the cupcake wrapper.  The pink ribbon/fiber is from the Making Memories Cheeky Trims card.   For my sentiment, I picked out a fun font and printed it off on my computer (using Microsoft Word).  I used my Marvy Mega Scalloped Punch to punch it out.  I hope you like it :-)

Oh, one more thing…this is Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge (wsc45).  Sketch challenges are so fun.  You should try one if you haven’t yet.

Happy Stamping :-)

Happy Birthday, Lee!

Happy Wednesday :-)

My brother’s birthday is Monday, so I thought I would use Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge #41 for the layout.  He is an outdoorsy guy and a hunter, so the Noble Deer set is perfect for him!

Lee's B-day (Large)

I colored the image with pastels.  It is hard to see any coloring in the picture, but it is lightly colored.  I used my SU! distressing tool to roughen up some of my edges then stamped the sentiment on twill tape.  It added a little more “rugged” touch.  I hope he likes it :-)

Thanks for stopping by :-)

Thinking Spring

Hello!

I hope you all have enjoyed your weekend.  We did, but I didn’t get much stamping time in.  Hopefully this week!  We got 6 inches of snow Thursday night!  It has been between 45 and 55 degrees since Thursday so most of the snow has melted. Yea!!  I usually don’t like mud, but when it means spring is coming I LOVE it!!

I just finished Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge card. It was a fun sketch!  I obviously have been thinking spring!

Thinking Spring (Large)

I really like this patterned paper I found at my local scrapbook store.  It is from the Twill Collection by Crate Paper.  I used my new Cuttlebug embossing folder Birds & Swirls on the white layer.  I colored the embossed swirls with my SU! Watercolor Wonder Crayons.  I embossed the flower with white ep, then cut it out and mounted it on dimensionals.  The center of the flower is a ribbon slide from the new SU! Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware (in the current Occasions Mini Catalog).  I also roughed the edges of my layers to soften the lines.

Thanks for looking :-)

Happy Tuesday :-)

I finished my card (this morning)!  It’s a great day already :-)  We were supposed to have a cloudy, yucky day, but the sun is shining and I see blue sky, Yea!  I decided long ago that I am a solar powered person.  I have a much better day if I can have some sunshine and blue sky.  I am definitely not a night person either.  I love to get up early and turn in early at night.  Anyway…on to the card:

This is another one of Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenges.   I love participating in her sketches.  You should try it if you haven’t yet :-)  This card is pretty straight forward, just lots of layering.  The patterned paper I used is from the Creative Imaginations Anthrology Collection.  When I bought it I thought it would make a great wedding card.  Well, maybe next time. LOL!  As you can see,  I used more taffeta ribbon (chocolate chip).  I really like it!  Also, it’s hard to see this in the photo, but the sentiment is on dimensionals.  It was hard for me to use a sentiment for the focal point instead of an image.  I think it worked out though.  Let me know what you think!

Thanks for stopping by :-)

Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone :-)

I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday.  I didn’t get a chance to post yesterday, it was a very busy house cleaning day.  I made a card this morning for you to see.  It is was inspired by Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge.  I can hardly wait for Spring, so I wanted to make it in spring colors.  This is what I came up with:

Beate's WSC36 (Large)

I LOVE the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware in the new Occasions Mini Collection 2008.  I couldn’t wait to use it!  I also love Taffeta ribbon.  It adds a softer, more feminine touch than grosgrain ribbon.

Have a good afternoon.  I will be back to post again tomorrow :-)
