Raspberries!!! GYDOFeb142011

Hello Saturday!

If you are looking for my JUGS post, scroll down or click HERE.

Today I have a really fun creation that I absolutely LOVE!!  I’ve been working on this idea for awhile, and it finally came together!  Check out this Inspiration Challenge photo over at the Verve forum.  See that heart full of goodies?  I thought, “that’s it…mix my raspberries with yogurt covered raisins in the basket,” (I know, my mind works in crazy ways)!!  You never know what will trigger the creative genius inside each of us 😉  Hehe!

Here it is…

Isn’t it cute?!  Those raspberries were a little tedious, but I whipped them out while watching American Idol!  I wanted to use a raspberry stamp on the card, but couldn’t find the perfect one.  I was tickled pink when I found this digital paper at My Time Made Easy!!

To make the raspberries, punch flowers using SU!’s 5-Petal Flower Punch, emboss them using CB Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.  Punch one hole in the tip of each leaf.  Use your bone folder to “roll” the petals so they take a rounded shape.  Using a needle and embroidery floss, thread together the leaves.  Punch a top with a small flower punch.  Punch two small holes toward the center.  Thread the floss through the holes, gather floss tightly, and tie.

For the basket, I used my Cricut Cupcake Wrappers Cartridge.  With the help of the Cricut Design Studio, I re-sized the wrappers to my desired size.  Once cut and assembled, I cut a bottom and glued it in.  The handle is 3/16″ wide and 11″ long.  It is glued between basket layers.

Have a fun weekend!

Hello :-)

How’s your weather??  It’s snowing here!  We have had lots of snow/rain lately.  Days like these make great crafty time!!

I have a couple of projects to show you today and tomorrow.  JUGS is having a contest in search of a new Design Team member, so I’m giving it a shot.  Wouldn’t it be FUN to join the JUGS girls?!

I am so excited to show you this project!  I have had this idea in mind for quite a while.  I finally decided to turn my idea into paper.  Picnic anyone??

Merry Christmas!

I have a project to share.  I am so excited to tell you…I am typing this blog entry on my NEW LAPTOP!!   My hubby and kids are SPOILING me!  I L-O-V-E it already 😉

I made these little Dove flower boxes using my Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes & More cartridge.  They are full of holiday wrapped Dove chocolates:

Dove flower boxes (Large)

Dove flower boxes 2 (Large)

The first boxes are made from some misc. cs I had on hand.  The ribbon is SU! Real Red grosgrain.  The second boxes are made using SU! retired patterned paper.  The ribbon is SU! Rose grosgrain.  I stamped the tags, cut them out and attached them to the ribbon using Around the Block’s Paper Tagger.  To finish it off, I punched a snowflake for the top.

Have a WONDERFUL day!

Happy Saturday :-)

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I just finished this card, so I want to share it real quick.  My hubby and kids are waiting for some fresh baked cookies.  Maybe they won’t mind just 10 more minutes 😉

Cricut tree Nov 09b (Large)

I used my Cricut for the main image.  Isn’t the tree awesome?!  Every time I use the Cricut I love it more and more!  The Very Vanilla circles behind the leaves were made with my circle punch.  I used dimensionals behind the leaves and bottom of the trunk for some neat dimension.  The sentiment is from SU! Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  They fit perfect in the Word Window punch.  I hung the charm off the ribbon for a little extra somethin’ :-)

Here’s the sketch (Mojo113):

Have a wonderful weekend!

Welcome Baby SFYTT

Hello Wednesday!

I have another Cricut card to show you.  The only stamps I used were puppy footprints on the inside of my card!  Can you believe it??  I L-O-V-E my Cricut :-)

Paxton Baby SFYTT (Large)

Isn’t the puppy super cute?!  I used the Animal Kingdom cartridge for the puppy and the Campout cartridge for the footprints.  The sentiment and birth info were made using Word on my computer, then printed on Very Vanilla card stock.  Everything (almost) is on dimensionals.  You can see the dimensions better from the side:

Oh, I almost forgot…this sketch is from Jen’s blog.  I obviously flipped it a bit :-)

Have a great week!

Cricut Expression SC212

Hi :-)

I mentioned earlier that my hubby and kids gave me a Cricut Expression for Christmas, and I LOVE it!  I used the Home Decor Cartridge and the sketch SC212 for this card:

Mom's Here for You SC212 (Large)

This DP is from SU!’s Parisian Summer DP pack.  I really love the colors.  I used Bravo Burgundy and Very Vanilla with it.  The flowers and dragonfly were cut using my Cricut.  I thought they needed more detail, so I paper pierced some details in each of them (it’s hard to see on the dark card stock in this picture).  It really looks good in real life because you can see the vanilla CS through each piercing hole.  I placed the flowers and dragonfly on dimensionals.

I struggled with the dotted strip.  First I had ribbon, then two ribbons, then DP…  I had to leave it, sleep on it, and try again the next day.  I ended up running a strip of vanilla CS through my Swiss Dots CB folder then inking up my brayer and very lightly rolling it over the dotted CS.  I loved the result.  I think it ties in really well with the dots on the DP underneath it.

The sentiment is form Verve Visual’s Here for You stamp set.  I stamped it on vanilla, cut it with my oval punch and placed it on a bravo burgundy designer label.  I paper pierced the rounded parts of the designer label, but again it’s hard to see in this picture.  The sentiment is raised with dimensionals.  To finish it off, I added two Taylor Tots to the bottom left corner.

Thanks for looking!

Why haven’t I been posting much lately?  Things have been pretty busy, starting with my hubby’s sinus/tonsil surgery.  After he started feeling much better, the ambition bug bit him!  He has been busy finishing the last room in our basement…the storage room!  I honestly thought we would never finish it.  He planned on putting epoxy on the concrete floor, sheet rock the ceiling, OSB the walls and build shelves.  Of course, this had to start with emptying the stacked-full store room, which is where I came in.  To make a long story short, I had to be at his beck and call through the duration of this project (which didn’t allow for any stamping time 😉 but for what I’ve gained that’s ok!).  He is almost done now (done enough that I was able to “move back in” with all the stuff)!  He did a FANTASTIC job!  Check out this pic…

Did I mention my hubby and kids gave me a Cricut Expression for Christmas?!  I LOVE it!  I used it to make the next two cards I’m going to show you.

Mojo66 Pat bday (Large)

The sketch is the Mojo Monday 66 sketch.  This flower is from the Cricut Cartridge Home Accents.  I cut it out in Elegant Eggplant, then cut the shadow out in Very Vanilla.  The center petals are on dimensionals.  The very center of the flower was made using SU! Build a Brad and my DP (from Hobby Lobby, but I don’t know by who).  I printed the sentiment out using Microsoft Word.  The lower left corner is embellished with three clear Taylor Tots over Vanilla circles.  To add a little something extra, I paper pierced under the square layer.

Have a good day :-)
