Wish Big House Mouse & sketch

1 Thought

Hi :-)

I have a really cute House Mouse stamp, Make a Wish, that I used on today’s card.  I typed the sentiment “Wish Big” on my computer, printed it out on cardstock, then punched it with my McGill Word Tags Punch.  Here it is:

Wish Big House Mouse (Large)

The only mice I can even get close to are House Mouse ones!!  I think they are adorable.  I colored the image with Copics.  This card is pretty clear cut, but it’s impossible to see the dimension.  The blue on blue layer under the mice is popped up.  I don’t think I can make a card without using dimensionals!!

Enjoy {the rest of} your day!

Hi :-)

I made my DH this card for our 9th anniversary in June.  I don’t generally use these colors together, but I think it worked.  Can you ever go wrong with House Mouse stamps??  They are so cute :-)

This card is pretty straight forward.  The DP is from SU!  I embossed the brown layer with my CB Distressed Stripes Embossing Folder and paper pierced around the edge of the bayou blue layer and the corners of the stamped image.  The mice are on dimensionals.  I stamped two extra images on vanilla card stock, colored the hearts and cut them out, then placed them on dimensionals in the upper corner.

Thanks for looking!

Feel Better House Mouse

Hi :-)

How are you today?  Things are pretty good here.  It is so quiet here right now…all 4 kids are napping :-)  They are tired from our busy morning.  I finished my card that I want to show you today, washed all our laundry, drove to town and dried our laundry at the Laundromat…busy.  Guess what?!?  This is the LAST time I have to dry my laundry somewhere else.  I am getting a new dryer Saturday!!  After the appliance repair company called and informed me my parts were on back order and the earliest possible day they could come fix my dryer would be March 12, my DH got on the phone with Sears.  To make a very long story short, Sears is going to replace my dryer.  Yea!

I made this card for my very dear neighbor who has been drying most of my laundry for me.  A few days ago she came down with a bad cold.  I have been waiting for an opportunity to use this stamp (not that I would wish anyone to get sick!).  So, I made her this card plus a few extras because I know a couple of you aren’t feeling well either 😉  You better check your mail box!

Sometimes I get stuck and can’t seem to make certain colors or a specific layout work for me.  Yesterday I was stuck with this card.  I almost scratched the whole idea and started over.  I decided to leave it alone and try again today.  I’m not sure what happened overnight, but this morning I worked it out easily! This card is pretty straight forward.  I used SU! markers to color the image.  One thing you can’t see from the picture is the shine and texture on the drop of medicine.  I used a clear Gelly Roll Glaze Pen on top of the perfect plum (SU!) medicine drop.  The Gelly Roll Glaze Pens give you raised writing that looks like it has been heat embossed.  They are really fun!

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

Your Lucky Day!

Hi :-)

I hope you are having a great Thursday so far!  We are having a fun day.  This morning I finished the card I started yesterday afternoon, Yea!  I did have to let my kids do a little stamping of their own in order to get mine done.  Sometimes the extra mess is worth a little more stamping time :-)  They love making cards for Daddy and me.  Now we are anxiously awaiting the dryer repair man!!

My House Mouse stamps I ordered came in the mail the other day and I have been dying to get them inky!  I found a sketch challenge that I knew would be perfect.

Your Lucky Day (Large)
I had fun with this card.  I was able to use a lot of new stuff.  I used SU! Spring Fling DP, which I LOVE, with wild wasabi and soft sky.  I used a new Cuttlebug embossing folder (Swiss Dots) to emboss the soft sky strip.  The House Mouse stamp I used is called “O Lucky Day”.

It’s hard to see from the picture, but I made the button using a Sizzix button die and SU! Crystal Effects.  I spread a thick layer of Crystal Effects on a piece of DP and let it dry.  Then I ran it through my CB with the Sixxix button die.  I taped the button to a larger soft-sky circle and an even larger wild wasabi circle, punched button holes through all the layers, and threaded embroidery thread through them all to make an X.  The circles are on a dimensional.  I used my computer to make the sentiment then printed it on soft sky card stock.

Thanks for stopping by :-)
