Happy Birthday, Dad! SC286

1 Thought

Happy Monday!

Where did the weekend go?  Probably the same place June is!!  My dad’s birthday was June 24.  Here’s the card I made him…

Dad bday 2010 SC286 (Large)

The image is colored with Copics.  It’s hard to see, but the red background layer is embossed with my Sizzix Woodgrain embossing folder.  The X’s were pierced, then stitched with embroidery floss.

This sketch is from Splitcoast Stampers SC286.  As you can see, I flipped it :-)

Tier of Treats SC261

1 Thought

Hello :-)

Happy 2010!  I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year.  Time to get back to the grind I guess :-)

Today’s card might put you in the mood for Valentine’s Day.  It’s fun, colorful and yummy…

tier of treats Pat bday 2010 (Large)

I started by coloring the tier of treats with Copics then used Crystal Effects to add some shine.  See it on the frosting and chocolate?  Fun :-)  The rest of my card is pretty self explanatory.

The sketch (SC261):

Thanks for stopping by :-)

Garden Flowers

2 Thoughts

Happy Tuesday!

I have a fun and cheerful card to show you today.  It’s another one of my craft stamps from Janlynn.  I have officially fallen in love with this one (Garden Flowers):

Garden Flowers SC224 (Large)

Does it make you smile?  It’s such a fun stamp and it is really fun to color too.  Don’t you love the butterflies and the ladybug :-)

This sketch is SC224 (flipped).

I colored the image using SU! Markers.  The flowers were made using an EK Success flower punch, a circle punch, then small buttons threaded with white embroidery floss.  I hope you like it :-)

Tea Time

1 Thought

Hi :-)

I have been working with some super cute stamps I received from Stamps Happen, Inc.  Check out their site at www.janlynn.com.  I have three cards to show you today that I created with the stamp Pot & Cup, each with a different sketch.

This first card I made I am struggling with.  It’s really not my style with the black.  Black is really hard for me to work with.  I try to work “out of my box” with color from time to time, but it didn’t really work on this one.  Here’s what I mean…

Sip & Relax SC225 (Large)

I really like my tea bag idea for the image and sentiment, but hmmm.  This sketch is from Splitcoast SC225:

I love this stamp, so I had to continue playing with it.  I really like this card.  It is definitely me:

Tea Time TECC59 (Large)

This sketch was from Taylored Expressions TECC59:

Again, I really liked my tea bag idea, so the third time is the charm, right??

Sip & Relax WSC79 (Large)

So this card is the winner.  I love, love the colors.  Can you ever go wrong with pink and brown?  This sketch was the Weekend Sketch Challenge WSC79.

I’m playing with more new stamps from www.janlynn.com that I’ll show you soon, as well as some Mother’s Day projects I’ve been working on.  Have a great day!

Thanks for looking :-)

SC220 Easter

Happy Tuesday :-)

Last week’s sketch at Splitcoast was a little challenging for me.  I wanted a background that wouldn’t distract from the pretty, soft image (from SU!’s Close As a Memory).   I used sketch SC220, and flipped it.

My card:

Easter SC220 (Large)

It’s always hard for me to get a good picture of pink cards.  Hmmm.  Any tips??

The colors are Regal Rose and Whisper White.  For the stamped image, I colored the stamp with SU! Markers, then stamped on WW cardstock.  The flowers are So Saffron in the center with Regal Rose petals.  The stems are Certainly Celery and Always Artichoke.  The ovals and rectangle are cut and embossed using Spellbinders Nestabilities.  I sponged Regal Rose around the image, then sanded the edges.  Of course, there are dimensionals too…under the Regal Rose oval and under the WW rectangle.  For the horizontal stripes, I used my ScorPal to dry emboss lines then sponged and sanded the lines.  I finished it off with Rose ribbon and three Taylor Tots.

I have the sentiment on an oval inside the card that says:

There’s no time like Easter…
For remembering just how wonderful
God’s love really is.

Have a great day :-)

Lovey Dovey Anniversary

1 Thought

Happy Saturday :-)

Do you believe in “better late than never”??  My sister and her hubby celebrated their anniversary toward the end of November and I’m just now getting them their card (yikes)!  My sister is a fellow card maker with three little boys so she understands things aren’t always timely.  However, I think she had totally given up on me, so Gail this one’s for you 😉 !!

Gail 7th Anniversary SC219 (Large)

The sketch is Wednesday’s SC219.

The heart (from SU!’s A Little Somethin’ set) is stamped in Handsome Hunter, cut out and placed on dimensionals.  I punched two small holes in th heart and threaded a pin with pearls through it (from SU!’s Pretties Kit). The layer under the heart was cut using Spellbinder’s Nestabilities Label 1, which is also on dimensionals.  I punched holes and threaded Hunter grosgrain ribbon across the two bottom layers.  To finish it off, I added two pearls on the side and a corner swirl (cut using my Cricut).  I hope you like it…sorry it’s so late, Gail 😉 !!

Thanks for looking!

Love Craveabella!

Hello!

I hope everyone is great and staying healthy!  I have taken an unwanted break from my craft room.  Pneumonia hit our house.  All six of us were down with it.  We spent 5 days in the hospital, 2 with our son then a few days later 3 with two of our girls.  It seems to be taking forever to get over pneumonia.  We are still coughing and hacking, but feeling MUCH better!  Lately I have managed to spend some much needed time in my pink haven :-)

I absolutely love Bella stamps.  One of my friends is within days of having her baby so I wanted to send her a fun, girly, Craveabella card.  She is expecting a boy, so this is probably the last girly thing she’ll get for awhile!

Becky Pregnant SC213 (Large)

I used sketch challenge SC213 for the layout:

When I make a card and am unsure how to color the image, I will stamp several and experiment with different colors on each one until I hit the jackpot.  My girls love it when I do this.  They collect all my experiments and make cards of their own with them.  I think they ended up with about 5 Craveabella’s to play with!  It was fun though.  My favorite things on this card are the pillow and the huge flower.  I colored the pillow in a striped pattern, mimicking the striped DP.  The flower was made using various flower punches I have (they aren’t even by the same manufacture, amazing!).  I placed dimensionals between the pretty in pink and white petals so it wouldn’t be flat.  I hope you like it :-)

Have a great day and stay healthy!!
