Baseball Father’s Day Card

2 Thoughts

Hello!

We have a crazy weekend planned, so I’m busy scheduling posts this morning.  Whew!  I have some really fun cards to show you, so be sure to check back each day through Sunday!

I have been using a lot of digital stamps lately.  They are really fun and offer a ton of diversity in their uses, but there’s nothing like getting a little inky!  I broke out the ink pads and markers this week and got busy making more Father’s Day cards!

We have 3 T-ballers and 1 Rookie this year.  They are loving baseball.  My hubby and I are too.  It’s so much fun watching them play!  I just played for fun growing up, we didn’t have a baseball league in my town.  However, my hubby played on a league for a long time.  He’s pretty good (at least the kids and I think so ;)!)  I thought it would be fun to give him a baseball themed card from the kids.

I love the baseball.  It’s my favorite part of the card!  I cut it out with a circle nesties in naturals white cs and sponged the edges in crumb cake.  I pierced the stitch lines, then sewed it with embroidery floss.  Behind the ball is a green baseball diamond. I’m sure he’ll like it, especially with their sweet messages written inside!

Thanks for looking!!

Coffee Filter Flower!!

Good Morning :-)

It’s Thursday, only one more day until the crazy weekend!  Do you have big plans to celebrate the 4th?  We will be watching fireworks for sure (now a priority with kids!)!

I made today’s card for my sister’s birthday.  I love the flower.  It is made using coffee filters!

Isn’t it awesome?!  I started with the basket-style coffee filters (not the cone shaped ones), and re-inkers.  First, I added a few drops of die to about 2 tsp. water (do this for each color used).  Next, using a watercolor paint brush, paint your coffee filters (I used one filter per flower layer).  Once they were all painted, I used my hair blow dryer to dry them out flat.  Now they are ready to run through the Big Shot with the XL Flower Folds Die.  Once cut, I layered them with dimensionals between some of the layers.  Finish with a big button in the center.  Fun and easy!  :-)

The lady bugs are from SU!’s Darling Dots set.  I stamped them then colored over the head and antennae with a darker color.  They are also on dimensionals.

I hope you like it!

This sketch is Sweet Sunday 75.

Have a wonderful, safe 4th!!

Good Morning :-)

I whipped out a couple Father’s Day cards I want to show you.  This is the first of two posts today, so be sure to check back!

The father’s in our life have very different personalities and sense of humor, so I made one card more fun loving and one more serious.  They both turned out great, but of course I LoVe the fun one!!  So, here’s one for the more serious at heart 😉

The bear is colored using Copics.  For the background, I used my new Sizzix Woodgrain embossing folder.  I hope my FIL likes it!!
