Pinch Proof…A Year in Review

5 Thoughts

Hi!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend!  Mine is passing way too quickly!  Today I’m busy making my grandma’s cinnamon rolls.  Mmmm!

Today is My Time Made Easy’s Year in Review.  I picked one of my all time favorite templates to use.  Do you remember Shutt-erfly?  I usually make this gift for Valentine’s Day, but when I saw the St. Patty’s Day socks I knew I had to do this…

I love the green!  So Irish.  This project was SO MUCH FUN!  I played with lots of Lauren’s digital goodies.

The template doesn’t come with a window, but without one you couldn’t see the ‘oh so cute’ cupcake sock inside!  I thought a shamrock window would be perfect.  However, I don’t have a shamrock file for my Silhouette.  So, time to get creative!  I used the hearts from MTME Flag ‘Em Down cut file to make a shamrock!

Like my patterned paper?  It is the flowery one in Spreading Spring Cheer!  I changed the colors of flowers to different shades of green.  Perfect for St. Patty’s Day!

Love the top view :-)

Cute cupcake, isn’t it!  I learned to make these from one of Lauren’s posts a long time ago!  See her tutorial HERE.  So cool.

Card to match :-)  I LOVE the glittery shamrock!  It is green galore cardstock covered with embossing tinsel.  I couldn’t find a fitting sentiment, so I made Pinch Proof in Word and printed it on cardstock.

Visit the rest of the MTME team for more awesome projects!

Have a wonderful Sunday!  :-)

S’more Birthday SC238

14 Thoughts

Hello :-)

In the spirit of camping, I made a S’mores card for my Hubby’s birthday.  We love making s’mores when we camp…graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate…you know.  However, he totally didn’t get it!  He didn’t’ know the background looks like a graham cracker and that is a bite out of the corner!  Is it obvious or just me??

Tim's bday 2009 SC238 (Large)

For the graham cracker bg, I used the CB Swiss Dots embossing folder and Scor-Pal.  The bite was taken out using my Scalloped Circle Nestabilities.  The images (SU! Under the Stars) are stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copics then cut out and glued to WW CS.  They are on dimensionals, the s’mores being the highest.  The sentiment is from Gina K Design’s Happy Camper set.

This sketch is SC238:

Special School Girl

Hi :-)

I like to make cards for my kids’ first day of school.  This is the one I made for Lizzy’s first day of Kindergarten:

Lizzy 1st day of Kindergarten (Large)

I used The Paper Studio’s DP.  I love the oversized letters and dots.  The scalloped oval was cut using my Nestabilities and placed on dimensionals.  The flower is also on a dimensional.  Lizzy loved her card…she is really in to yellow and pink.  I still can’t believe she’s in Kindergarten!!

Enjoy your day!

John Deere Father’s Day

3 Thoughts

Hi :-)

I hope you are all ready for Father’s Day.  I still have one more card to go!  I better get a move on since tomorrow is Father’s Day!

My dad is a John Deere man all the way!  I found this patterned paper by Creative Imaginations and I knew I just had to have it for my Dad.  June is a busy month for him.  He has Father’s Day, Birthday, and Wedding Anniversary all within 10 days!

John Deere Father's Day 08

I don’t use black in cards very often, but I thought I would give it a shot with this card.  I used Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge for the sketch.  Her challenges are always fun.  I cut the focal image out of a piece of patterned paper that was covered with different pictures of John Deere tractors.  I used my Marvy Giga Punch to punch it out.  It’s hard to embellish guy cards without flowers, butterflies or bows.  I thought I would keep it simple by adding black eyelets and black, untied ribbon.  I hope Dad likes it :-)

This second card is the card I made for my dad last year for Father’s Day.  It’s pretty simple, but I had just gotten into stamping and I was super excited to create this card all by myslef :-)  My parents are extremely hard workers and rarely take a day off, hence the sentiment…

Teacher Thank You

1 Thought

Good Afternoon :-)

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I am trying to catch up on
laundry.  My DH was out of town last week for work, so I have a lot of his
clothes to wash along with our norm.  It’s great to have him back!

I made this card for my daughter’s preschool teacher.  I wanted to thank
her for such a great year.  This is another one of Beate’s Weekend Sketch
Challenges WSC49.  My DP is from The Paper Company Studio.
It matches SU! Certainly Celery and Rose Red perfectly!  I used my Scor-Pal to dry emboss lines in the
celery layer in the center to resemble lines in grade school paper (I didn’t
come up with this on my own.  I saw it on
a blog a week or so ago!).  It was hard
to see the dry embossed lines so I inked up my brayer and rolled celery ink across the
top.  After that I stamped “thank you” on
the line.
