Weaving…Cherry Pie Anyone?

11 Thoughts

Hi!

I’m SO happy it’s Friday!  I’m in desperate need of some down time this weekend!  I hope we all get sunny weather :-)

Our Creative Corner is having a fun challenge this week…The Wonder of Weaving.  Although I’m a rookie when it comes to weaving, I wanted to play along!  I came up with a delicious idea…

OCCC Weaving Cherry Pie b (Large)

OCCC Weaving Cherry Pie c (Large)

Cherry pie anyone?  I really love the woven “pie crust” top!  It is Crumb Cake cs, inked with Close to Cocoa to give it the browned look.  I cut out the cherry free hand.  It’s hard to see in the pics, but the cherry pie filling is embossed with my Tiny Bubbles CB embossing folder.  The sentiment is from Verve’s Circular Sayings.

Thanks for looking!

Flower Pot MTME Pretty Palette Challege

Happy Easter! I hope you are enjoying your holiday! I sure am…spending time with family and hiding eggs, eggs, and more eggs!

It’s time for another My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette Color Challenge! Check them out:

MTMEPPC06

When I saw these colors, I knew I had to make a card for my mom! She loves blues. I followed the flower pot card tutorial at scs.

Flower Pot Card 2 MTMEPPC06 (Large)

Flower Pot Card 3 MTMEPPC06 (Large)

I’m LOVING those flowers! Aren’t they great? I used MTME Blue Skies digital paper and punched flowers out of it. Then I ran them through my paper crimper several times, wadded them up, flattened them out and stuck them together with dimensionals. Beautiful!

I hope you play along with us this week!

Have a wonderful day!

Raspberries!!! GYDOFeb142011

Hello Saturday!

If you are looking for my JUGS post, scroll down or click HERE.

Today I have a really fun creation that I absolutely LOVE!!  I’ve been working on this idea for awhile, and it finally came together!  Check out this Inspiration Challenge photo over at the Verve forum.  See that heart full of goodies?  I thought, “that’s it…mix my raspberries with yogurt covered raisins in the basket,” (I know, my mind works in crazy ways)!!  You never know what will trigger the creative genius inside each of us 😉  Hehe!

Here it is…
Raspberry Basket & Card GYDO Feb a (Large)

Raspberry Basket & Card GYDO Feb b (Large)

Raspberry Basket & Card GYDO Feb c (Large)

Raspberry Basket & Card GYDO Feb d (Large)

Isn’t it cute?!  Those raspberries were a little tedious, but I whipped them out while watching American Idol!  I wanted to use a raspberry stamp on the card, but couldn’t find the perfect one.  I was tickled pink when I found this digital paper at My Time Made Easy!!

To make the raspberries, punch flowers using SU!’s 5-Petal Flower Punch, emboss them using CB Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.  Punch one hole in the tip of each leaf.  Use your bone folder to “roll” the petals so they take a rounded shape.  Using a needle and embroidery floss, thread together the leaves.  Punch a top with a small flower punch.  Punch two small holes toward the center.  Thread the floss through the holes, gather floss tightly, and tie.

For the basket, I used my Cricut Cupcake Wrappers Cartridge.  With the help of the Cricut Design Studio, I re-sized the wrappers to my desired size.  Once cut and assembled, I cut a bottom and glued it in.  The handle is 3/16″ wide and 11″ long.  It is glued between basket layers.

Have a fun weekend!

Hi!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  Ours was pretty low key, but very fun.  Now I need to get thank you cards out!  When I stopped by JUGS to check out this week’s challenge, I knew I had to play along!  The sketch I used is one on this month’s Verve forum.  Check out JUGS and VERVE for some awesome inspiration!!

I have never taken the time to line an envelope before.  It was fun!!  It adds an extra special touch.  I’ll definitely be doing it again!!  You can do it too…visit Stamp TV and watch Gina K as she demonstrates how to line envelopes!

I stamped the sentiment in Baja Breeze then punched it out and layered it with SU! XL Decorative Label Punch.  This is popped up on dimensionals and decorated with a glittery snowflake brad.  I embossed the Baja Breeze layer with my Big Shot and CB Snowflake embossing folder.  To add a little extra, I dotted the center of the snowflakes with liquid pearls.

Have a wonderful day!

Happy Thursday!!

We finally have a little break from the wind!  It’s supposed to pick up again this afternoon, but for now it’s calm!  How much wind can we take?!?

This card is the 4th and final one for the April Verve Challenges (Week 4).  I’m going to be sending it to those special mothers in my life :-)

Usually I have pretty good luck taking pictures of my projects.  However, this picture really doesn’t do this card any justice.  It has such a simple beauty that I love.  I just can’t seem to capture how pretty it really is in a photo.  Hmmm.

The image was colored with SU! markers and stamped on WW CS.  The butterfly was cut using my Big Shot and SU! Beautiful Butterflies Die.  Then I ran it through the Big Shot again with my CB Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.

Have a wonderful day!

Hello :-)

I hope you are having a great week so far!  Mine has been busy.  I do have another card to share today.  My brother’s birthday was a couple of weeks ago.  I did call him on his bday, but didn’t have his card done.  I jumped at the opportunity to use this super cute stamp set on him!!

I'll Be Dammed VLVApr2010 (Large)

The sentiment on the inside reads “I forgot your birthday (card)!”  Ha ha.  Isn’t this beaver too cute?!

This sketch and inspiration were from Verve’s April Challenge Week 3.

Thanks for looking!!

Isn’t it awesome?!  For the sentiments, I printed a springtime poem onto Pale Plum CS, then punched it out with my SU! Modern Label Punch.  You could use any poem you want, depending on what you were putting in the pockets.  I think it would be fun to put tea bags, hot cocoa, skin care samples, etc. in the pockets for something different.

Have a wonderful day!
